Demet Yavas graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration in 1992. In 2000 she became a Trademark Attorney and in 2002 Patent Attorney with the examinations held by Turkish Patent Institute.

Since 2008 she is working for Yetkin Patent & Consultancy as consultant and instructor regarding national and international trademark and design registration processes. Between 2014-2017 she was a member of the Board of Supervisors of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Attorneys Association. Demet Yavas participated in many national and international meetings, symposiums and trainings regarding Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights.
